Client: Redrow Homes

We have recently started construction on a Redrow Homes site at Guinea Hall Lane, Banks, Nr Southport. The site comprises of 100 new houses and we are to provide roads and sewers throughout the site. The contract includes:

• 150mm dia foul sewers
• 225/300/375/450mm dia surface water sewers with concrete surround
• An initial role as principle contractor on site
• Approximately 500m of road
• Large attenuation pond for surface water sewers
• Outfall connections in existing carriageway for both surface water and foul sewers
• Setting up substantial compound area to be used by our client Redrow
• Cast in-situ headwalls for sewer pipes

As part of our role as principle contractor we were tasked with dealing a number of different contractors ensuring they were adequately trained, had all necessary health and safety measures in place and adhered to the safe method of work set out in their RAMS. As principle contractor we had a responsibility to put in place and maintain a site traffic management system including walkways and appropriate signage. We also took on the role of dealing with the local residents to maintain a good relationship between site staff and the local public.
